My guess is that they will claim Russia, China or some such will overtake the U.S. in terms of AI, including for defence and security. Thinking of an arms race or space race, but for AI. But you're right, this is pure speculation on my part.

Really great article. Still betting that, by end-of-year, companies will frame AI not as a competitive tool for companies, but as a national security imperative to be massively funded by taxpayers. Might be wrong, we'll see.
