I've never been a tattoo person, but ever since my orange cat (of blessed memory) passed away, I've wanted a tattoo honoring him. At first I thought this was just a grief-induced impulse, but it's been eight months and I still want it. IDEK.

And also, maybe this is silly of me, but watching the show post-pandemic was a bit of a surreal experience. The first episode, in which the grocery store was EMPTY, just sent me into a whole mood of THAT'S NOT REALISTIC OMG.

This appears to be an unpopular opinion, but I don't think it's as good. I would have loved the show unreservedly had I seen it on its own, but to me the show didn't capture the underlying sense of hope that I found so poignant in the book.

Not to excuse this nonsense, but why tf are teachers giving assignments that requires kids to email authors? It is, in fact, very possible to do a book report with just the information that is provided in the book itself.

Kids lie (as do adults), and so of course that should be in books. A lot of gatekeepers have unreasonable expectations regarding how kids "should" act. It's like they want every book to be a 50s sitcom.
