I've never been a tattoo person, but ever since my orange cat (of blessed memory) passed away, I've wanted a tattoo honoring him.
At first I thought this was just a grief-induced impulse, but it's been eight months and I still want it.
IDEK.

And also, maybe this is silly of me, but watching the show post-pandemic was a bit of a surreal experience.
The first episode, in which the grocery store was EMPTY, just sent me into a whole mood of THAT'S NOT REALISTIC OMG.

This appears to be an unpopular opinion, but I don't think it's as good.
I would have loved the show unreservedly had I seen it on its own, but to me the show didn't capture the underlying sense of hope that I found so poignant in the book.

Not to excuse this nonsense, but why tf are teachers giving assignments that requires kids to email authors?
It is, in fact, very possible to do a book report with just the information that is provided in the book itself.

YA: Protaganist lies about finding a body, it's cool.
MG: Protaganist lies about getting a bad grade in math, GASP.
Another point in favor of the idea that there isn't enough space for upper MG?

Kids lie (as do adults), and so of course that should be in books.
A lot of gatekeepers have unreasonable expectations regarding how kids "should" act. It's like they want every book to be a 50s sitcom.

Periodic reminder:
What you see on social media is an algorithm-curated echo chamber. Those who shout loudest typically get amplified the most, regardless of whether they’re right.
The real work takes place offline. If you’re getting stressed out by today, take a break, focus on what you can do.

The cat agenda: 1. Steal a cheeseburger wrapper; 2. Refuse to let it go; 3. Growl and hide under the bed so that no one can take away said cheeseburger wrapper.
Just another day in the life of Bumblebee.

Call me annoying, but is it really necessary to label books as "a romantasy novel" as a subtitle in Amazon?
I know it's for SEO, I know, but it just feels weird and kind of gauche.
