Probably. Around here I think they’re based mostly in the wetland 4-5km from me, which is only a short hop from the coast. Occasionally one will stop off on its way at the river that runs through town.

From the number & spread of juveniles there must be at least 3 nests in different areas of the park. It’s only 25 min walk from home but I’m usually too lazy to walk up the steep hill to get there.

I'm fed up with trying to take pictures of birds in the waist-high grass left by the parks & gardens workers' strike so today I headed across the "border" to our neighbouring municipality of Leioa & found a park with black redstarts everywhere. Bird 1 of 6 #birds 🦉
