We need to become more comfortable with polarization. Polarization is a symptom, not a disease. I for one am wholly comfortable with refusing to treat those who want me or my friends dead as people worthy of my respect.

You don't have debates with genocide promoters. You don't have debates with fascists. You don't have debates with racists or bigots. You provide them with clear arguments as to why they are wrong, and then you walk away. If they choose to stick to their sick beliefs, you cut them out of your life.
