Been in Germany for the last week & my wife reported our 10 year old called out to her at 4am a couple of nights ago. When she went up she was stood, eyes closed at the top of the stairs calling the name of our recently deceased dog. Gave her a hug & she went back to bed. Can confirm, kids=weird
