It’s worth repeating that John Roberts clerked for William Rehnquist, who had to recuse himself from Supreme Court cases involving Nixon because Rehnquist had been in Nixon’s DoJ and didn’t step down.

Nixon's conduct has been de facto decriminalized in that a R president committing the same crimes now would not face any consequences for it.
