So incredibly angry that the online trans community even considered the "egg prime directive" for a second, let alone allowed it to become the big thing it is. Someone came up with a rationale to prevent trans girls from transitioning and Tumblr/Reddit trans folk just ran with it.

I always guessed it came as a response to one of the main bits of TERF bullshit - the whole ‘transing others’ thing. One thing to always remember is that the prime directive in Star Trek was broken plenty of times, and there was almost always a positive outcome.
