growing up, maturing, and entering middle age all before learning that I have legit reasons for not knowing how typical people interact socially definitely has left some marks, but the best thing people who care about me can do is non-judgementally point out when I've fucked up. I want to do better!

little me: *is always honest, even when it's "brutal" or "to a fault" because that's how my brain is* other kids: "We're mad at you, and when you don't understand why we'll get even madder!" teenage me: *tries to see how other's react before saying anything* other teens: "you're so fake"
