I’m not sure how any other Dem candidate will fare better. First we’ll have a month of “Dems in disarray” attacks and then they’ll find some flaw of the new candidate to harp over and accuse the Dems of poor candidate vetting.

Basically, I suspect the media is arrayed against the Dems in general and trying to placate them is just going to convince them to go harder against us.
