sad when CNN ignores case law SCOTUS has ruled in: Warren v DC - the state has no duty to protect Castle Rock v Gonzales - the state has no duty to intervene if those decisions are irrelevant please tell me what i'm missing

Those two cases would be relevant if they didn't intervene or chose to not protect. But they intervened and their actions, like stopping parents from intervening and even putting at least one under arrest for trying, were justified by the fact they were protecting.
