the only modern trek show that's really at all loyal to the continuity and aesthetic of TNG/DS9/VOY is Lower Decks, but as a comedy that survives mostly on making references to those shows the tone is so far off it's hard to stomach, imo
have you seen Strange New Worlds or Prodigy? the former is back to the mystery of the week format, and the latter is a sequel to Voyager; it starts out very kiddy, then after a few episodes settles in and just becomes a good, classic Trek show
granted, i actually /AM/ old, and i grew up in the golden age of trek in the 90s, so i'm rather attached to those series. (though i will argue they are objectively great)
i know the whole point is to bring modern audiences (aka young people) into the trek fandom, but it is just so different now
