Yeah, the final season was okay... certainly better than the first two. But it's still a far cry from feeling like trek, for me. I think the optimism that the great shows had is missing and needed now more than ever

I didn't see the Plinkett review of Picard, just the Mike & Jay(?) discussion that they did as the episodes were coming out. Watched them very recently! But I definitely agree with you. I miss smart people using science to solve mysteries and ethical problems.
