Resignation is the worst option, because it puts the Democratic Party in the position of fighting the post-election battle (if they win) without a sitting VP. Unless anyone believes the House Republicans are going to confirm a new VP, now or ever.

is he really that much worse than four years ago or one year ago? this seems so pointless compared to campaigning down ballot and other things the Dems should be worried about. most voters seem savvier than pundits in that they know the president isn’t alone. they’re surrounded by people.

Ed, it's the only option. He isn't fit to run a campaign. He isn't fit to be President. He might not even make it to November. You think watching the Democrats drag a feeble old man around the country to humiliate himself at campaign rallies and debates is a viable option?
