Trad tiktok culture is half make-believe fetish from the jump Senator giving speech from kitchen feels different though. You could imagine a feminist Senator doing it to demonstrate that power isn't unfeminine. So I'm not sure what to make of it, obviously she wasn't making a critique like that.

The kitchen was a set. That's what bothers me about it. Polished illusions of authenticity can be just as damaging because it sets up unreal expectations. Nobody's kitchen looks like that, because nobody could afford to keep a kitchen that clean.
