A ranked voting system, then? It sounds even more appealing now. I hadn't realized the ones low in the running could withdraw and donate their Next Choice votes back to the leaders. That is. So polite and SENSIBLE.

France isn't ranked choice at all lol. It's election are composed of a single round followed by a runoff between two or three biggest vote getters depending on share of the vote.
