I grew up on welfare in LA. I unexpectedly went to an Ivy. I met people with no life experience and wild opinions. That was the greatest education. Since then I've seen so many well-connected white men get picked up every time they fall. Doesn't take that much wealth to be insulated from learning.

Another good time was when I was invited to do a workshop at the Aspen Institute because so many of the Fellows' philanthropic projects were failing due to a lack of understanding the problem they were trying to solve. I pedaled out of there afterwards as fast as I could on a Sotheby's bikeshare.
