This is something that feels awkward to explain in short skeets, but McDonalds is the perfect comparison. Some people love it and its all they eat. Some people think its absolute trash for moral and health reasons and refuse to touch it. Most people are somewhere in the middle.

Also, there is something to be said about the gigantic power of nostalgia. Sometimes you just crave a shamrock shake or mcflurry, beyond all logic or reason. You're lactose intolerant and know they're terrible for you, but something about them just hits the spot?

I get that, but I would argue that since McDonald's doesn't actively and deliberately encourage racism, antisemitism, and so many more forms of bigotry, viewing it more neutrally doesn't make you an actively horrible human being like a neutral stance on HP does.

I think a trash book or trash media is okay sometimes, especially if it is delicious trash. But I am highly suspect of anyone who, in media diet or food diet *only* consumes trash and uses that trash as a frame of reference for everything.
