Sid Vicious became a household name with The Sex Pistols but only played on one track on their only studio album (and his bass track was even dubbed over afterwards so you can barely even hear his contribution).

I remember seeing a VH1 show and Lemmy from Motorhead was discussing a conversation he had with Sid Vicious. Sid said "I have a confession, I can't play bass" and Lemmy responded "Yeah Sid, we know."
