Melt a stick of butter in your baking dish in a preheated 350 degree oven. Make your batter (1 c flour, 1 c sugar, a pinch of salt, 1.5 tsp baking powder, 1/2 c milk. Stir until just combined, it's better to be lumpy than it is to over stir)

I forgot to get a picture of this step but reserve between 1/3-1/2 c batter. Dump the rest into the buttery baking dish and spread it around the bottom of the pan as best you can
