No commas after sentence-initial subordinating conjunctions! Wrong: “He thought he could. But, he couldn’t.” Right; “He thought he could. But he couldn’t.” Also right: “He thought he could. But, in this case, he couldn’t.” The second example is only right bc there is a sub-subordinate clause/
