As @rickhasen.bsky.social just wrote for Slate, "Roberts’ failure to even acknowledge [the] risks … is going to be Roberts’ legacy for American democracy. That is, if our democracy survives."
The U.S. can choose elite impunity, as Roberts would enshrine, or the rule of law — but not both.
