...that paper is indeed just plotting X=X, but what does that have to do with kitchen sink regressions? This is unrelated to your complaint about Hough or my critique of it.

It points to my critical eye for analysis. I haven't published anything on tidal/earthquake correlation because I know it's a quagmire, but still remain open. There are several citations to the Kolvankar paper despite the X=X. This one uses tidal gravimeter correlations
