One thing that is very annoying is when authority figures sanctimoniously argue that "accepting the consequences" is an important part of doing civil disobedience correctly. The consequences are part of the injustice!

Yeah, talk about confusing expected outcomes with desired ones. It’s like saying, “throwing up and losing your hair is part of doing chemo correctly. If you don’t have those symptoms, sorry, this isn’t going to work for you…”

People should read all of MLK's Letter from Birmingham Jail incl where he excoriates the police:

"It is true that the police have exercised a degree of discipline in handling the demonstrators...But for what purpose? To preserve the evil system of segregation."
