Is it really though? Or have we simply allowed our society to evolve in a way that has pushed the worst of us to the top? A system that rewards these people’s lack of empathy and care for others, and thus conditions others to act the same way?

I want to believe that humans have just as much capacity for kindness as they do cruelty. Unfortunately the current state of things leads to people becoming cruel because being cruel is more beneficial to them and offers more immediate rewards than trying to help others and hoping they do the same.
