Yeah, I went into very skeptical. Nothing about it sounded appealing to me. But I wanted to listen to it because it was such a phenomenon. (Then I, too, was hooked.)

I don't tend to get excited about musical soundtracks, I'm not a big fan of hip-hop, and I was a dreadful student of American history, so it quite surprised me at how overwhelmed I was by Hamilton.
