Would Judy Garland and James Dean have approved this use of their image and voice for purposes in which they had no say? To be faked into things they might not have wanted? We can't ask them anymore - so perhaps we should simply not do this.

By all means watch their films, listen to their songs, collect their photographs, grieve for what might have been... Make new art out of them and their myth (like Warhol) - but do not appropriate them for so-called 'new' work, bound to be fake, stretching them ever thinner.
