Idk who is telling you that- they're dumb. Using your credit card for groceries helps build good credit if you pay it off on time every time.

1) if you pay the card off completely every single month, you can put whatever purchases you want on it. You’ll build credit and on some cards will even get rewards 2) if you can’t pay it off in full and incur interest, you’re probably getting fucked by a 30% APR

The only people who say that are people with credit card debt. Or so I guess, idk that never made sense to me either. Especially if your card has rewards, the only things I don't put on my credit card are big payments like my mortgage and purchases that could easily put me over my limit by accident
