The totalitarian frauds you decry ran the convention, and also had their choice for party chair (solely responsible for responding to Trump's ask with an "invitation") reelected. The POTUS choice they abhorred won nomination. Abhorred as in they (~40%) voted for literally NO NOMINEE instead.
