So who the fuck is being a fatalist here? These guys do well in the states that lost Hillary the election. That feels about as airtight as a counterfactual can be.

Those guys didn’t run in national elections. A comparison of a real thing that happened with a complete hypothetical cannot be airtight. Also saying “I think people shouldn’t claim with certainty how alternative histories would play out” isn’t fatalist. It is just how reality works.
