A large uninterrupted power supply unit had a melt down last week and started shrieking distressly loudly. I dealt with it by replacing it (rather hurriedly). But now I can't find the original. How do you misplace a large black box in a small office?

Did I go into some kind of fugue state and hide it somewhere? Smash it with a large hammer or throw it against a wall? But then there'd be debris. All this to say it was a bit stressful at the time so anything's possible.
