This is one of the only confusing things for me about Roberts signing off on this. He clearly likes being our chief cleric; does he think that will... continue, under Maximum President Trump? That he will not be, at best, a rubber stamp?

The best I can say is that people like him tend to think of themselves as indispensable, and I think conservative intellectual types think that they’re much more instrumental in the conservative movement than they really are. Most of them don’t know that they’re figureheads.
