Leaving the EU just removed the pretense that the UK is anything other than a cat’s paw for the US.

So Russia fires shots across British bows, and Iran interdicts British ships, just to poke the US in the ribs. Doing that to an EU member state carries different consequences. England is just a US aircraft carrier off the coast of France.
