This seems like a sweet story about a teen couple using a PowerPoint presentation to persuade their parents to let them have a (no sex!) sleepover. But it also says a lot about how our culture of fear around teens and sex helped erode the US safety net. 1/

The 18-year-olds argue that they are "smart, good kids," and so they won't be having sex during their sleepover, because "sex means babies equals broke." I get why this might be persuasive to parents, but sex doesn't have to equal babies, and babies don't have to equal broke. 2/
