Paris is beautiful. Have I mentioned that? Also: people here are fine. I haven't seen any of the supposed Parisian contempt for Americans. If you are polite, so are they. This leg of the trip has been difficult, but because of the tour, not because of Parisians.

My experience has always been that the French love America and Americans enough to be tremendously upset when we fall short.

My mom and I went to Paris years ago, and same. If you are polite, respectful of their culture, and make an attempt at their language [however bad] then they are just as polite back to you. Glad you're enjoying the trip, Paris really is beautiful!
