Idk I've only drawn/painted a few pieces since I started 2 years or so ago and I seem to be doing ok improvement-wise? If you're not passionate for art though why do it? There's a big wide world out there, if you force yourself you'll just end up copying others as you're uninspired? That's why slow?

I have the reverse problem, I have little patience when drawing. It took me a lot of encouragement to spend 10 hours on a portrait.

I try to remind myself that even in a perfect world i'll never finish even 10% of the ideas I come up with. It's tempting to say that it's because I am slow or ill, but I think just saying that it's unreasonable to be 'on' all the time helps me
