Yeah because calling on Trump to drop out would require believing that Trump has morals and cares about the opinion of the Times editorial board. They call on Biden to withdraw explicitly because the prospect of a Trump victory is so damaging. (It also features a ton of positive language about him)

So, the audience for a “Trump should drop out” editorial is not just Donald Trump. Also I’m assuming your position then is also that Biden would drop out because the NYT editorial asked him to?
