If you want to have a national referendum directly on the question of disqualification, THAT would be "letting the voters decide." But no one's proposing that. And they don't have to, because the Constitution contains clear instructions.

So no, "let the voters decide" is no kind an answer to the disqualification question. It is a dodge of the disqualification question. It assumes an answer -- the wrong answer, at that -- and then holds an election based on that wrong answer.
