Since sexual assault is in the news again (forever) I want to recommend a great memoir by Chanel Miller, "Know My Name," chanel-miller.com. It feels strange to call a book that spends a lot of its time discussing the impact of sexual assault "beautiful" but it is beautifully written.

For a lot of reasons, survivors of assault choose not to speak up about their experiences, and the voices and perspectives of survivors are so rarely centered. I'm working my way though "Not That Bad," 29 essays on the same topic, all from different authors.
