if you want to do something concrete to help people who will be at risk during a Trump presidency, tutor refugees who are applying for citizenship. It's easy for you, it's like 6th grade civics. And extremely rewarding. I helped Somalis, Eritreans, Sudanese. Google "[your city] refugee services"

Lutheran Social Services and Catholic Charities are two of the big organizations in the midwest. Don't get scared off by the names, religion never came up at all. (And all the students were Muslim except for the woman from Sudan.) I stopped because of COVID but I'm going to go back to it.
