While I'm somewhat in favor of traffic cameras for speed enforcement, a system of speed cameras is not entirely race-blind like their proponents suggest. Unsafe streets that encourage speeding are most often placed in neighborhoods with lower incomes.

Residents in Linden Hills have narrow neighborhood streets that encourage low speeds that they use to get to the grocery store. Residents on the Northside have four lane "death roads" that encourage highway like speeds they use to get to the grocery store.
