Baffling. Our verdant, east coast suburban swamp had volunteer fire trucks & an ambulance camped out at the local display all day. And a dozen cop cars (making cops useful for a change) specifically directing & funneling traffic afterwards.

I'm 3000 feet above and 20-60 miles away from the municipalities where I could see fireworks last night, they may have had all that but while I could see tiny explosions below me I definitely could not make out eg individual vehicles. Hence my hope etc.
