Nova by Panic is great because it's a native app and Panic are somewhat experienced in making Mac apps. I use it for occasional php/js/css/html dev. VSCode is (or other IDEs are) better for my day job in C.

Try zed. Not as many plugins out yet ( you can make them yourself if necessary ) but the performance is way better
