Thanks for the offer! The case in point is a smart speaker that was working great until a few weeks ago now randomly getting extremely confused when I talk to it. I'm gonna try to recalibrate it via its app the next time I'm bored and have 15 minutes.

solid plan. perhaps there's an update, or just the threat of a hard reset. and the oddball question: did any new "smart" devices join the household within earshot when you started seeing this? the speaker may be hearing some of the high-frequency chatter and missing your voice commands.
