I think I found a genuine use fkr chatgpt. I'm casually using it to narrate my everyday life in Japanese and it teaches ne expression and stuff I didn't yet know. I'm aware that it's very resource intense, and that these models are prone to hallucinating, but for now it seems really useful.

it's a colossal waste of water and electricity built on exploitative labor and the unpaid work of writers everywhere but it helps me learn new japanese expressions that might be real so who can say for sure if it's good or bad!
