Yeah, I think I read something similar now that you mention it. I remember them having to do something specifically to get on the Ohio(?) ballot.

the Ohio deadline was going to be Aug 7, while the DNC was going to announce their candidate on Aug 19. The DNC has decided it will hold special virtual proceedings to meet earlier in order to meet the Aug 7 deadline. Meanwhile, Ohio GOP is also trying to extend the deadline to Aug 23
