There are plenty of people in the industry who were fun, respectful, and encouraging to me and treated those around them like shit. It is only through letting them get away with that behavior do they even have room to even foster sincere relationships that are held up as the 'good' example.

power dynamics especially bring out the worst in people - and often times people in creative spaces with this power dont like to acknowledge it, especially if those spaces used to be more niche or nerdy - like animation or comics. Turning a blind eye makes it easier to abuse.
