An amazing (but hard to jump into) example of this from video games is the FF14 expansion endwalker. There is an entire extended segment in the middle of it's story arc that you can not convince me wasn't written with covid in mind.

Hell, the entire expansion asks the question, among others, "What do you do when it feels like the world around you is falling apart?" It wasn't about covid, but it was absolutely about covid
