If they were stated by staff to be approved, then are we sure that the firearms were actually real, or were they members of our community who like the “tactical” aesthetic stuff. I have several friend who go REALLY hard into that kinda gear and have collections of replica arms

THAT BEING SAID, there absolutely is a large conversation that needs to be had about comfort. With the long history of violence against queer spaces, lots of folks being scared is totally fair. The members of us who like that stuff, should have a dedicated space, so they can have fun (cont)

Uh, HOW ABOUT your friends and people likes these idiots keeps their fucking gun replicas that can EASILY be mistaken for real weapons OUT OF PUBLIC PLACES where they can cause a mass panic? Because, funnily enough, nobody will stop to check if a gun is real when they got it pointed at them.

It doesn't fucking matter if it's real or not. There's a time and place for such things and a furry convention where not everyone is in on ...whatever this is... is NOT the place.

Im sure the guns were airsoft or toys or some shit but in todays climate, and with a team of maybe 50 people in charge of 15,000+ attendees, the opportunity for a switcharoo or a mistake to get made is too risky. its safer to just disallow it. ffs theres not even an orange tip
