Also, now that it's Disability Pride month I'd love to remind and/or inform people! marriage equality includes marriage equality for people with disabilities. The government can and will suddenly cut-off people's disability payments if they get married. 👍🎇🏳️🌈

And theres 2 different types of disability in the US, so the rules depend on which youre on. like; if you're on SSDI if you get married, your spouse's income can get your SSDI taxed or if you marry someone else disabled both of yours can get maxed out at 25%~ less than if you two werent married 1/2

In Australia, in some ways it is worse. Don't even have to be married. They will cut if the government decides you are in a "marriage-like relationship" which is applied inconsistently and in some cases doesn't actually require you to be sharing finances.
