Hey #illustrators, I'm looking for a middle-grade artist who is bright and commercial and really good at doing horses. It would be helpful if you had horses in your portfolio for us to look at.
Reply here with image samples and a link to your portfolio.
Hi Mallory. I only have early sketches of these ones (a job that didn't go ahead), but I work in a range of styles. You can see samples of my work here: oisinmcgann.com/artwork/
Hello Mallory and welcome to Bluesky! These illos are not in my portfolio anymore, but I like drawing horses. Colors needed to be quite muted here, but I can use a brighter palette, if necessary. Portfolio - www.lagaia.art
Hey Mallory!
Here are a few of my horses…
If you’d like any specific please let me know, I’d be happy to draw or paint any requests! I enjoy drawing Cows and goats etc. all animals really
😊 thanks
Sure I'll throw in :) I'm surprised to find I have very little actual horses in my bank, as I tend to draw a variety of more mystical equines but I certainly consider horses a specialty!
Hi Mallory, I don't have horses on my portfolio so I sketched my first one ever, and yes, they are hard, but for a middle-grade, I would draw more horses 😁 Thanks for the challenge. catarinaoliveirastudio.com
I love using colors and well, I do a lot of unicorns but wouldnt mind at all changing them to horses! I have few different styles of horses I do, heres some images!
Posting my sampler here too, in case you are still looking. I was crazy about horses when I was young, and drew them every day all day long when I wasn't at the barn riding them. Would love to be considered. I haven't done MG, but have wanted to get into it for years looking for the right project.
Hi, Mallory. I worked on a middle grade series with horses & love drawing them because I have one in my backyard! I ride and volunteer with horses, so I am great at capturing personality.

Well, horses I can do well, people I can do somewhat, and backgrounds are not my strong suit. But my friend @katxtoonz.bsky.social thought I should toss my hat it. So... *plucks fascinator off and tosses it in the ring* Here we are. XD
The last project where I drew a lot of horses is older, so it's mostly exited my portfolio, but I do a lot of fun middle grade stuff. Here's a portfolio link and a donkey riding a horse I drew for a pal's podcast!
Hi Mallory, I appreciate I'm late to the party & you've probably found someone in this awesome selection. Throwing my hoof in anyway :D www.rowenaaitken.com
Hi Mallory. Tried to post a sample here, but it may not have gone through. Still new here. I didn't have any pieces in my portfolio so quickly created one. Sample: and my new piece in portfolio on my website. www.theresaanackerwohlers.com
Hi Mallory. Does a jackass count? I didn't have any finished horse pieces around so quick made up a couple for you. These couple samples, then put a piece in my portfolio. www.theresaanackerwohlers.com
OMGoodness! Much love for horses! I worked on Bella Sara, My Little Pony covers, and a pin up of the Last Unicorn. Included a ink from Calpurnia Tate: Girl Vet.
Hi Mallory! I don't know that I have exactly what you're looking for but here are some commercial tween unicorns I made for a tween girls commercial product which would fit into the right age for middle grade. www.esprints.com/copy-of-mg-y...
Hi I draw horses in a mixture of styles, from my little pony to semi realism, I also illustrated one book to a self published author back in 2014 King Moonglow and the magical dream www.deviantart.com/moonfeather (I had a DA hosted portfolio but it seems to have vanished)
